Aims and scope

Just like ANSOLE DAYS 2018, this event will combine scientific lectures and training on photovoltaics. All topics related to sustainable energetics and water (scientific, technological, economic and societal aspects) are welcome. Training on PV systems will be done theoretically and practically using the facilities of MOBISOL Rwanda Ltd, located in the vicinity of Kigali. Participants are requested to bring along their laptops having excel program for PV theoretical training.

                                                           

Company Presentation, Exhibition and Promotion

The scope of the conference targets practical solutions to real world problems in the fields of sustainable energetics and clean water. Therefore, we welcome table top presentations, information flyers included in the handouts or presentations in the abstract booklet presenting such solutions from companies and research organizations from Europe, Africa, Latin America and elsewhere. The fees for company presentation range from 300€ to 600€ depending on the level of presentation. This is valid for companies and research organizations which are not sponsors. The registration fee includes training, two coffee breaks and a lunch each day picking at the airport, conference booklet, certificate of participation and transportation to the Mobisol facilities.

Participants from Rwanda can pay on the spot during the event. This is also possible for foreign participants who have indicated this option during the registration process.

 

Venue and Travel Information

Known as the land of a thousand hills, Rwanda’s stunning scenery and warm, friendly people offer unique experiences as one of sub-Saharan countries and remarkable country in the world. It has a size of 26,338 square kilometres with a population of over 11millions.Its capital city is Kigali. Constantly working to ensure Rwandans can live in sustainable harmony with the environment, with a clean and green mindset, Rwanda banned plastic bags in 2008, Rwanda is possibly the cleanest in Africa thanks to efforts throughout every community.

Rwanda is blessed with extraordinary biodiversity, with incredible wildlife living throughout its volcanoes, montane rainforest and sweeping plains. Warm and friendly, Rwandans are also respectful and thoughtful. The local language is Kinyarwanda and English is mostly used although French is also used.

Rwanda has an excellent mobile phone network covering almost the entire country, and international calls can be made easily. Its time zone is Central African Time (CAT) – GMT +2 hours. Temperature range between 24-27 degree Celsius which makes it a great destination to visit all year around.

As Rwanda is the most known for The Volcanoes National Park fall on one side of the Virunga Massif, home to mountain gorillas, golden monkeys and much more an optional visit to the parks can be organized for participants who are interested at their own cost. Great museums are also available that depict the History of Rwanda such as King’s Palace, Ethnographic Museum, Kigali Genocide Memorial and Rwanda Art Museum.

Visa

As of 1st January 2018, nationals of all countries receive a visa on arrival at Kigali International Airport and all land borders. The visa application fees vary between 30-50 USD. Applicants should have a valid passport or another acceptable travel document. The document must have a validity of at least six months on the day of entry into Rwanda.

Visas can be applied for before departure, by submitting an application online, with the option to pay online or upon arrival. Alternatively applications can be submitted at the Rwanda Diplomatic Missions of the country of residence.

 

Always have a ball pen ready with you on the plane as you will need it to fill in the entry form to be handed to the border police.

 

Vaccinations

It is imperative to be vaccinated against yellow fever at least ten days before travel date. Any other vaccination may be advised by your local healthcare provider, Medication against malaria is also advisable prior to travelling. Vaccination cards may be controlled at the airports and borders. For more info, please visit www.moh.gov.rw.

 

How to get to Kigali

Your flight destination is Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda .Airlines servicing Kigali International Airport are: RwandAir, Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, KLM, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines... From the Kigali International Airport, you should arrange your transport to your Hotel.

The conference organizers will arrange the transport from Kigali airport to the accommodation.

 

Accommodation

All foreign participants will be lodged at the Anglican St. Etienne Guesthouse Kigali Diocese (KN7, Avenue 57 Kigali, Rwanda, Tel: +250 788 847 592 (WhatsApp), Email: eardkguesthouse@gmail.com).  The price of a single room or twin room (not self-contained!) is 15000 RWF without breakfast, while that of a double room (self-contained)is 30000 RWF without breakfast. Breakfast costs 3000 RWF.

 

Communication

Wi-Fi will be provided at free of charge at the St. Etienne Guesthouse.

The language of communication during the event is English.
