The first ANSOLE Webinar

27.09.2011: Under the umbrella of ICPC-Nanonet (icpc-nanonet.org) and moderation of Lesley Tobin, the first ANSOLE Webinar was held between 13.00 GMT and 16.00 GMT. It witnessed the participation of roughly 20 persons. The first lecture given by Lesley Tobin presented the Institute of Nanotechnology (nano.org.uk) and the EU-funded icpc-nanonet 4 years project (2008-2012). A general presentation of ANSOLE followed in which the coordinator pointed out some new developments about the network and revealed some details in the preparation of the upcoming ANSOLE DAYS 2012. The third lecture, which was very educative, was delivered by Dr. Bertrand Tchanche of the Agricultural University of Athens Greece. He lectured on "solar industrial process heat". Prof. Malik Maaza of iThemba labs Pretoria South Africa, Chairman of Nanoafnet gave an overview of this African based nanotechnology network. The last lecture was given by Prof. Abdelfettah Barhdadi of the University of Rabat (co-founder of ANSOLE). He briefly presented the various research activities in his laboratory and called for graduate students from other parts of Africa to apply for Ph. D. positions in his lab.
