Disseminate renewable energy (RE) related information using ANSOLE mailing list and website
In case of conferences, workshops, seminars and symposia, please send us your event information at least two months before it takes place by providing us the date and place, event´s name, important deadlines, event´s website or email. E.g:

Mediate research labs to African students and researchers worldwide
The coordination office (CO) is ready to assist African students and researchers (especially those having their own funding) in getting welcoming research labs worldwide for short term scientific stays. The candidate should send us his updated CV (including color passport-size picture) as word document for corrections and/or upgrading purposes. We cannot guarantee to always get a welcoming lab. However, we do our best to help the candidates (sofar above 90 % of success rate).
Mediate African institutions to non-Africans
Non-Africans who are seeking contacts in Africa for RE-related scientific and non-scientific issues can be assisted by the CO. So far the CO helped individuals from the US, Canada, Sweden, Netherlands, Scotland, etc.
Write recommendation letters in favor of ANSOLE members
In 2013 the coordinator wrote recommendation letters in favor of active ANSOLE members which facilitated the obtention of a green card to a Kenyan citizen in the US, a top position job in RE sector in Namibia, an associate professorship in Turkey and a participation to an ICTP event in Trieste.
Organise ANSOLE conference/workshops/symposia
From 2011 to 2013, ANSOLE organised/co-organised events in Cameroon (April 2011 and February 2012), Morocco (January 2013), Kenya (May 2013), South Africa (November 2013) and Germany (November 2013).
Appoint national and regional representatives and their deputies
By the end of 2013, ANSOLE had 560 members found in 35 African countries and 19 non-African countries. Countries, by then, having 30 members and above are Cameroon, Nigeria, Germany, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Morocco and Kenya. Our plan is to be present in all 56 African nations within the next 2 years.
Coordinate the scholarship programmes
The Intra-African Exchange (INEX) and Africa-North Exchange (ANEX) fellowships programmes are presently financed by the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) (98%) and by ANSOLE e.V. (2%). The present budget permits the sponsorship of highest 4 students at a time. From 2012 till date (January 2014) a total of 6 students have received our support, 4 within the INEX programme (1 from Cameroon to Senegal then to Morocco, 1 from Cameroon to Morocco, 1 from Senegal to Morocco then to Italy through the TRIL programme, and 1 from Kenya to South Africa); and 2 within the ANEX programme (1 from Algeria to Austria and from 1 Egypt to Austria). ANSOLE is seeking additional fundings from individuals, companies and institutions. This will enable more Africans to be trained. A student within an INEX programme obtains a monthly stipend between 300 and 400 Euros, while an ANEX student receives between 900 and 1000 Euros monthly in addition the coverage of visa fees and return air-ticket.
Mediate international business cooperation in RE (and non RE related businesses) between the rest of world and Africa
The CO facilitates access to the African Market and mediates business partnerships. For instance, with the assistance of ANSOLE, "solar" beverages (non-alcoholic and alcoholic) produced in Germany will be marketed in Africa as from 2014, starting in South Africa. The long term plan is to create jobs in South Africa by implanting a local "solar" brewery there. Other joint-venture projects mediated by ANSOLE will be materialized soon.
Assist in the creation of national and regional networks
ANSOLE initiated and assisted in the creation of Cameroon Renewable Energy Network (CAMREN) in 2012, which has been recognized as a non-profit organization in Cameroon affiliated to ANSOLE in April 2013. ANSOLE attended the launching of South African Solar Energy Association (SASEA) on the 4th of November 2013 in Cape Town. Our members in other African countries are planning the creation of such national bodies in cases where they are nonexistent.
Assist other institutions in the organisation of RE related meetings
From its creation till date (January 2014), ANSOLE has provided valuable assistance in the organization of RE related events with a strong attendance of African participants in Germany, Belgium, Turkey, South Africa and Ghana.
Sign media partnerships and MOUs
Organisers of RE related events seek the endorsement of their events by ANSOLE by signing media partnerships with us. Between 2012 and 2013 ANSOLE signed 8 agreements. The first MOU (momerandum of understanding) will be signed in April 2014 between ANSOLE and the Ecole Normale Superieure de Rabat, Morocco (affiliated to the University of Rabat) to carry out joint meetings in Morocco, train sub-saharan African students in Rabat, etc.
In charge of public relations
The CO is to be contacted for all issues related to the media. As from 2014, the CO will be publishing an ANSOLE newsletter.
Write yearly general reports (scientific and financial) to be presented to the funding institutions such as ICTP.
PD Dr. rer. habil. Daniel A. M. Egbe was born in Mambanda Cameroon on the 20th of May 1966. He obtained his BSc in Physics and Chemistry (major: Organic Chemistry )
in 1991 at the University of Yaoundé Cameroon (presently known as University of Yaoundé I (UYI)- uy1.uninet.cm). He moved to the Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena
Germany (uni-jena.de) in 1992, where he obtained a Masters and a Ph. D in Chemistry in 1995 and 1999, respectively. He completed his "Habilitation" in Organic Chemistry
at the same institution in 2006, before spending postdoctoral stays at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, Germany (02/2006-08/2006), at the Technical
University of Eindhoven in Holland (2006-2007) and at the Technical University of Chemnitz, Germany (2007-2008). Since 2009, he is a senior scientist the Linz Institute
for Organic Solar Cells (LIOS) (lios.at) of the Johannes Kepler University of Linz, Austria (jku.at). His research interests are the syntheses and the study of
structure-property relations of (semi)conducting organic and organic/inorganic (hybrid) materials (small molecules and polymers) finding applications in organic
light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic photovoltaics (OPVs), organic field effect transistors (OFETs), CO2 reduction, etc. He is member of German Chemical Society
(GDCh), Organic Electronics Association (OE-A), American Chemical Society (ACS), World University Service (WUS), german chapter (member of board of directors)
(wusgermany.de). He is the initiator of the German-Cameroonian Coordination office (KBK-cameroon.net), initiator of ANSOLE, initiator and chairman of ANSOLE Germany e.V.
(ansole.org). Since July 2012, he is consultant at ICTP (The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste Italy) on energy issues.
